Install

Download and install Lévin™ Harness on an Apple silicon Mac, then open your first local project.

Remote compute is not required to install Lévin™ Harness or open a local project. Connect it later only when a workflow needs a remote GPU.

Install the app

Once the disk image finishes downloading:

    Open the disk image

    Open the downloaded .dmg file from your browser or Downloads folder.

  2. 2

    Move Lévin™ Harness to Applications

    Drag Lévin™ Harness into the Applications folder in the installer window.

    Finish installation

    Wait for the copy to finish, then eject the Lévin™ Harness disk image from Finder.

First launch

After launching Lévin™ Harness, manually open the Settings panel, go to the Model page, and configure an LLM connection before starting your first task.

    Open Model settings

    In Settings, select Model, choose New provider, then enter the configuration name, provider protocol, Base URL, API key, model, and context window.

    Test and save

    Select Test Connection. After the connection succeeds, create the configuration and set it as the default model.

    Open a project and verify the first run

    Close Settings, add or select a local project directory, then start a chat and ask Lévin™ Harness to list the files or summarize the README. Review the selected model and permissions before sending.

You can add or change model connections later from Settings → Model.

Installation help

How do I know whether my Mac uses Apple silicon?

Open the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, and check the Chip field. Apple M-series chips use Apple silicon.

The download does not start

Retry the download, confirm that your browser allows downloads, and check the Downloads folder before starting another copy.

macOS will not open the app

Confirm that Lévin™ Harness is in Applications and that the copy has completed. If macOS shows a security message, keep its wording and contact support before changing system security settings.

I still need help

Open Support & Feedback and include your Mac model, the step that failed, and the exact error message. Remove API keys and private project data from screenshots or logs.
